About the DVD
System Requirements
The search engine requires Windows 98*, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 2003 with at least Internet Explorer 4. It would be best if you can upgrade your browser to the latest version of Internet Explorer (usually via Windows Update) as I cannot test the system on every possible variation of IE. The PDFs are not displayed properly by the search engine if you use another browser like Opera or FireFox.
You'll require Adobe Reader 6.0 which is a free download. Earlier versions of Reader will not work with most of the PDFs. Adobe Reader 6.x requires requires Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows. *According to Adobe, Acrobat 6 will not work on Windows 98 but it will work on Windows 98SE. At this time, Adobe 6 is not supported on Windows 95, Windows 98, Linux, Mac OS7-10.2.1. It is supported on Mac OS 10.2.2 through 10.3.
- Though much care has been taken, in publishing such a large number of documents it is possible something has been mislabelled, pages could be missing, or other mistake(s) could have been made. If you find any mistake please notify me at steve {a.t.} genusa (d-o-t) com.
- Some of the documents we have had to work from were of very poor quality. We've done the best, within reason, to cleanup most of these documents. For those documents that are of very poor quality, if readers wish to contribute a better quality copy, we would be most appreciative. In particular, a lot of time was spent cleaning up The Apostolic Advocate, volume 3. Volumes 4 and 5 were only partially cleaned up. These 3 volumes came from poor quality microfilm.
- Some of the files on the DVD are very large (100's of megabytes). If you have an older slow computer these large files may take a long time to load. Please be patient.
- If you have enough harddrive space, you can copy this DVD to your harddrive. Here's how to do it:
- Make a directory on the harddrive you want the files on
- Copy the files including all subdirectories to the new directory (preserve the subdirectory structure)
- For PC's, if you want to use dtSearch, create a shortcut to Bookshelf.exe on your desktop
- That's it. Run Bookshelf or Adobe Reader/Acrobat and enjoy.
- Please remember that we are required to pay $10 (US) per DVD to dtSearch Corporation.
- If you copy the DVD to your harddrive you can add bookmarks or notes into the PDFs. If you create bookmarks in a PDF file and feel they would be of use to others, please burn the PDF file onto a CD and send us a copy so that perhaps a future update can include your bookmarks.
- One of the most valuable additions were the many volumes of the Logos magazine. For myself, it was so encouraging to see these early issues of Logos. Over the years you can see 1) the growth of brother H.P. Mansfield 2) that brother H.P. Mansfield was publishing articles that clearly expressed the atonement back in the 1940's and 50's. 3) He was accused of the same (false) things back in the 40's and 50's as he was in the 70's and 80's. 4) He died having fought the good fight -- having kept the faith.
- May you "read yourself rich". If you need any help please contact me at the above email address.
