Daily Bible Reading Aid

- Purpose:
- To aid the mind in absorbing the daily readings
- To help the elderly, visually impaired or blind enjoy the daily readings
- To aid in consideration of the Word when reading is not possible
(driving an automobile, air travel etc.)
- Functionality:
- Reads the daily readings through your computer's soundcard. When the
program starts, the program automatically selects the daily readings for
the current day (based on your computer's internal clock). The complete
years' table of daily readings is built into the program so there is no
need to manually select readings. When the computer finishes reading the
day's readings it automatically loops to that day's first reading and
begins reading each chapter again till you press the Stop button or exit
the program.
- If you wish to hear readings from a day other than today's,
using the program's calendar you can select any day you wish to listen to.
Selecting another day from the calendar, or manually typing a date will
list the readings for that day automatically.
- The program can also export the audio to two formats: CD (WAV) or
portable player MP3 format (for Rio, Lyra etc.). Each "track"
is a complete day's readings so that track 1 contains the first day's
complete readings, track 2 the next day's readings etc. This allows you
to use the "loop" function of either your CD player or
portable MP3 player to hear the day's readings repeatedly. You must have
a CD burner and CD burner software (such as Adaptec Easy CD Creator) to
burn audio CD's.

- The program can be minimized to the operating system's tray and can
display the chapter currently playing.

- Requirements:
- Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000
- A functional sound card
- The program uses roughly 5 megabytes of memory to operate
- Roughly 2 gigabytes of hard drive space for all the audio files. You can
manually copy the audio files from CD to your computer if you lack 2
gigs free space but this means you must do some yearly maintenance to
keep the program operating.
- A personal and legal copy of Alexander Scourby's Complete King James Bible (tapes
or CD). This can be acquired for roughly $150 US. The tapes/ CDs are not
used by the program but since the program uses the audio from this
copyrighted product, ownership of the product is required to be
moral and legal. Copies of the audio may not be passed around morally or
legally so please respect the copyright holder of the audio, the Commandments of Christ, and the laws we
live under.
